How they innovate

With an in-house R&D team, Polydrain is committed to producing the best possible products for its customers. One of the key strengths of the business is the role the manufacturing plant plays. Here the team develops highly effective moulds that are under statistical process control and are leanly manufactured. They produced a range of products such as Inspection Chambers, Oval Rodding Points and Pipe Lubricants. All products are designed in an environmentally friendly way to ensure that buyers get the best solutions whilst minimising the impact on nature.

How they test

In order to ensure optimal results, every product produced is placed under observation and has to undergo rigorous testing. These tests are very in-depth and solidify Polydrain products as industry leaders.

There are two key areas where testing takes place; in-house and external tests. The in-house testing includes a visual inspection of each product. Every batch is dimensionally inspected and then water tested for leakages. The team will assess the pressure tightness via the vacuum being tested. The traceability of documents for the whole batch is looked at to ensure they are controlled and retained. Industry bodies such as BSI and Lloyds British then carry out their own separate assessments to confirm that the products all meet industry standards.
